Privacy
Privacy notice
A plain-language notice. It follows the Australian Privacy Principles and, for health information, the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic).
Who I am
Jean-Luc Alder, Provisional Psychologist, AHPRA registration PSY0002935778. I'm not currently accepting clients, and this site doesn't collect clinical information.
What this site collects
Nothing directly. There are no forms, cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and fonts and images are served from this site rather than from third parties.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. Cloudflare's privacy policy covers that processing.
If you email me
I collect your name, your email address, and whatever you include in your message. I use it to:
- reply to you;
- keep a record of professional correspondence.
How it's held, and where it travels
Email is held in a password-protected mailbox with two-factor authentication, and only I can access it. Email can pass through, or be stored on, servers outside Australia, including in the United States. If that doesn't suit you, please don't send sensitive information by email.
Sharing
I don't sell or share your information. I would only disclose it where the law requires me to, or with your consent.
How long I keep it
Enquiry emails are kept for twelve months after our last contact and then deleted, unless they become part of a clinical record, which has its own legal retention requirements.
Your rights, and how to complain
You can ask what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, by emailing jeanlucalder@jeanlucalder.com.
If you're not satisfied with my response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or, for health information in Victoria, the Health Complaints Commissioner.
