Practice

How I work

In supervised practice I work from an integrative approach. I start by building a shared understanding with the person of what's going on for them, called a formulation, and then we agree on an approach together before trying it. Below is what I'm trained in and where I'm on placement.

Approaches

Trained in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) through the Institute for Social Neuroscience (ISN) and supervised placements, with developing experience in psychodynamic approaches.

Cognitive behavioural therapy
Works on the links between how we think, feel and act. Much of the work is small, practical experiments that test unhelpful beliefs and try out new ways of responding.
Acceptance and commitment therapy
Learning to unhook from painful thoughts and feelings so they have less hold over you. The aim is to live more fully alongside life's difficulties, guided by what matters to you.
Psychodynamic approaches
The bigger picture of you: your history, your patterns, and how they connect to your difficulties now. We build that map together first, before putting time into easing distress.
Contemplative practice
Building skills in, and understanding of, how attention and awareness shape our experience and our difficulties.

What I'm drawn to

These are my areas of clinical interest. I won't offer services until I'm fully registered.

Where I'm training

All of my clinical work is supervised by Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisors.

CPACT is a training program. I am not an Authorised Prescriber and I do not provide psychedelic-assisted therapy. More on the About page.
